History of the Stud

Peter Collins formed the Fairlight Acres Pony stud in Kerang in 1962 with the purchase of Nattai Fairlight. Part of this name was used to create the Stud name “Fairlight Acres”

Other main stallions used over the years have been

Barolin Tasman
Owendale Perry
Fairlight Acres Nigel
Fairlight Acres Perry

Kirreway Karltyn
Fairlight Acres Perry II
Fairlight Acres Kestrel
Fairlight Acres Kidman

Mondiso Park Eclipse

Barolin Tasman’s fillies were used to cross over with Owendale Perry, giving a good start in producing quality ponies.

Kirreway Karltyn was purchased from Eric Dudley in 1979.  Karltyn was by Rotherwood Commander imp. dam Green Valley Annette

The Fairlight Acres Pony Stud was based on Green Valley pony stud mares.  Green Valley Annette’s blood lines have been used in this stud for many generations, proving her to be one of the greatest A.P.S.B. Pony mares.  Fairlight Acres Nigel was out of a daughter of Green Valley Annette. Nigel has produced many Supreme Champion foals at the A.P.S.B. foal shows.

Fairlight Acres Kestrel and Fairlight Acres Kidman are full brothers, out of Fairlight Acres Kassette by Fairlight Acres Nigel.  Both are leaving a large number of winners in the show ring.

Over the years we have had some wonderful successes in the show ring and the mares have bred on to leave quality ponies.
